Twitch Pre-Stream Experience for Pringles

Together with Pringles and Intermate Media GmbH, we developed an innovative, gamified brand experience on Twitch. The previously static pre-stream waiting room was transformed into an interactive, story-driven environment where the community could actively engage even before the actual stream started. Through chat commands, users were able to influence the space, creating an immersive brand experience.
My Role as UX Lead
• Designing user interactions – Defining the mechanics that allowed users to alter the space through chat commands.
• Space conception
• Phase-based experience design – Structuring the experience into different phases with specific tasks and commands that influenced the environment.
• Storytelling & scripting for Mr. P – Crafting dialogues and interactions for Mr. P to create an engaging and entertaining narrative.
• Wireframing & flow design – Creating wireframes and user flows to define the experience and interaction possibilities.
Results
We set new standards for pre-stream engagement and brand interaction on the platform. Users could actively shape the environment—from adjusting the lighting to selecting snacks. Atmospheric sounds, music, and storytelling further enhanced the immersion.
Popular streamers like RevedTV, Ava Crown, and the esports team Eintracht Spandau used the Pringles Twitch experience before their live broadcasts, turning the waiting time into a playful and interactive experience for their fans.


User Engagement in Phases
The community collaborates to complete tasks using our customized chat commands to make the virtual space “stream ready”—booting up the room, preparing snacks, changing the screen background, and setting the lighting mood. Or they can simply explore the streamer’s (virtual) four walls, discovering Easter eggs like ordering pizza or changing the time of day.
